DR PATRICK RUSSO
Patrick Russo graduated BDSc from the university of Melbourne in 1983 and in 1988 was awarded Fellowship by examination in the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons (FRACDS)
Patrick joined the practice of Dr Peter and Vera Bowen in 1985 and succeeded in 1987.
Patrick practices in all aspects of general dentistry with a special interest in restorative and reconstructive dentistry. With his training and over 30 years experience, he is well placed to attend to all dental needs.
In addition to conducting his private general practice, Patrick has been a part time clinical demonstrator at the University of Melbourne and has examined in General Dentistry fir the final examination FRACDS.
Patrick has served on several boards and Committees within the profession. He has been a Councillor for the Royal Australiasian College of Dental Surgeons for the last 8 years and in November 2016 was elected President of the College.
He has been awarded Fellowship in two international dental honor societies, The Pierre Fauchard Academy (FPRA) and The International College of Dentists (FICD)
DR SUSAN NEEDHAM
Susan Needham graduated BDSc from the university of Queensland in 1982. In 1987 she was awarded Fellowship by examination in the Royal Australasian College of Dental Surgeons. In 1989 a Masters Degree in Orthodontics was awarded from the University of Melbourne.
Susan has worked in private practice Orthodontics since that time and as extensive experience in all aspects of Orthodontics for adults and children.
Since 1995 Susan has been a consultant orthodontist at the Royal Childrens Hospital of Melbourne dental unit.
DR CHRISTINE SHERMAN
Christine graduated dentistry at the university of Melbourne in 1988. She had previously worked as a dental therapist for the school dental service for 3 years.
Dr Sherman enjoys a variety of general dentistry including crown and bridge, endodontics, implant crown and cosmetic work including porcelain veneers. Her passion is cosmetic dentistry and improving a persons smile.
Christine is a member of the Australian Dental Association and a member of the bayside study and Implant groups.
Having worked in the same family practice for 28 years, she has really enjoyed getting to know the generations of families.
Christine is a keen golfer and plays competitive tennis on a weekly basis.
DR TENNENT EMERSON
Tennent is a dental surgeon who grew up in Melbourne. He completed a Bachelor of Biomedical Science and Bachelor of Science (1st class Honours) at the University of Melbourne, before completing a Bachelor of Dental Surgery at the University of Adelaide. Tennent started treating patients of the South Australian Dental Service in the Adelaide Dental Hospital and surrounding dental clinics. From early 2010 Tennent worked in a group private practice with a focus on aesthetic dentistry in Hobart, before being approached to practice in Melbourne at Brighton Dental Group in 2011.
Tennent has been practicing at our Brighton rooms for over 5 years and has built excellent rapport with many of his patients. Always willing to spend time discussing all treatment options, he has become known for his patient approach, caring nature, quality dental treatment and thoroughness.
Tennent is a key opinion leader and has been invited to lecture in Australia, Europe and Asia. He enjoys practising all aspects of modern dentistry, however he has particular interest in prosthodontics (crown and bridge) and periodontics (gums), dental implants and sleep medicine. He has undertaken surgical dental implant training at the University of Melbourne and the University of Bern, Switzerland. He also has a keen interest in sleep medicine and has undertaken further training in this area. He is actively involved in a multidisciplinary team including local sleep and respiratory physicians, and ear, nose and throat surgeons.
He is a member of the international Team for Implantology , and the Australian Dental Association.
When not at work Tennent can be found on one of Melbourne’s fantastic golf courses or out and about trying to keep fit and active.
DR CARMEL BUCKLEY
Carmel is a dentist of nearly 30 years experience. She graduated from the University of Melbourne and has worked in private practice since graduating.
Carmels interests are in general restorative dentistry. Her aim is to not only restore and maintain her patient’s health but to ensure the experience is relaxed and comfortable.
Outside of dentistry Carmel enjoys running and participating in running events. She enjoys cooking and in particular making desserts.
